Select a relevant and topical leadership issue from current news media that revolves around ethics and ethical decision making

Leadership studies demonstrate that the most effective leaders know how to draw upon self-leadership skills to in turn motivate and lead others to expand their strengths to ultimately better serve the goals of an organization. For this assignment, you will continue to study conscious leadership and look at a leadership example from contemporary media and evaluate how well the particular leader exemplifies the qualities of effective and ethical conscious leadership.

Select a relevant and topical leadership issue from current news media that revolves around ethics and ethical decision making. Research the situation and gather information in order to evaluate the leader. Keep in mind, the issue that you choose will serve as the backdrop for your evaluation while using the key terms and concepts covered in your course readings. Write an evaluation (minimum 1,000-1,250 words) of the situation that addresses the following:

  • The power bases used by the leader.
  • The influence tactics used by the leader.
  • The leadership style of the leader.
  • The outcome (or potential outcome) of the situation.

Conclude by justifying whether you think this leader supports the values of conscious capitalism. Is the leader’s leadership style effective? Do you believe the leader acted ethically in the situation? Be sure to consider each tenet of conscious capitalism in your leader evaluation.

Next, imagine yourself as a practitioner of servant leadership. You have been appointed into the leadership role in this same circumstance. Explain how the situation would be different. Address the four criteria listed above in your discussion and incorporate the principles of conscious capitalism by explaining how your personal values and style are influenced by each tenet.

Strengthen your claims in each content section of your essay with supporting citations and specific examples.

This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.

postgraduate university statement of purpose

I am planning to apply to ETH Zurich’s doctoral program in pursuit of a career in further academic research in the field of “Energy” and specifically in electrical power systems. This interest was confirmed by my research work as a graduate student at the American University of Beirut (AUB). During that time, my research work included several projects each tackling a unique electrical engineering-related task. These research experiences also led me to discover that I enjoy research work, especially in fields that combine research with simulations, control, and mathematical optimization techniques. My avid interest in the distribution network-related optimization problems led me to explore several optimization techniques including genetic algorithm, different convex optimization techniques, such as lagrangian, normal equations, gradient descent, and artificial neural networks, as well as the deterministic search space technique “dynamic programming.”

Nursing essay on Cost-Effective Care

When one hears of a patient being over-treated or undertreated, one thing that comes to mind is the new technology that is being used in healthcare. There have been mixed reactions to the technology being used in healthcare services in the United States. Some say that it saves lives, while others think it is too expensive. The following nursing essay explains the merits and demerits of cost-effective care about an acute illness that my father had, heart attack.

In an article that Jeanne Lenzer wrote in 2012, she explains hoe and intern watched as nursing professionals tried to resuscitate a patient who was almost 90 years old and was in the end-stage of congestive heart failure. The doctors worked for about one hour with equipment like pressor being injected into his heart, but the old man died (Lenzer, 2012). Although doctors have always insisted on doing everything they can to save lives, it sometimes becomes too painful for the patient as some of these procedures are done while the mind is still awake. My father had a heart attack, and when he got into the emergency room, they used the same procedures because his case was severe. I believe he was under a lot of pain during this period.

However, such nursing procedures have been known to save multiple lives not only in the United States but also the rest of the world. Overtreatment may be painful and expensive, but the result is sometimes worth it. My father was able to recover from the illness, and although he cannot perform stressful tasks like lifting heavy stuff, he sure is happy that he is still alive. In fact, the whole family is grateful to the hospital staff for saving his life. That is why one day, I would love to work as professional nurse.

conduct a literature search to select a quantitative research study

Write a fully developed and detailed APA essay addressing each of the following points/questions. There is no required word count; be sure to completely answer all the questions for each question in detail. Separate each section in your paper with a clear heading that allows your professor to know which bullet you are addressing in that section of your paper. Support your ideas with at least one (1) source using citations in your essay. Make sure to cite using the APA writing style for the essay. The cover page and reference page are required. Review the rubric criteria for this assignment.

Conduct a literature search to select a quantitative research study related to the problem identified in Module 1 and conduct an initial critical appraisal. Respond to the overview questions for the critical appraisal of quantitative studies, including:

  • Is this quantitative research report a case study, case control study, cohort study, randomized control trial or systematic review?
  • Where does the study fall in the hierarchy of evidence in terms of reliability and risk of bias?
  • Why was the study done? (Define the problem and purpose.)
  • Were the steps of the study clearly identified?
  • What was the sample size?
  • Are the measurements of major variables reliable and valid? Explain.
  • How were the data analyzed?
  • Were there any untoward events during the conduct of the study?
  • How do the results fit with previous research in the area? (This may be reflected in the literature review.)
  • What does this research mean to clinical practice?

Additionally, be sure to include the rapid appraisal questions for the specific research design of the quantitative study that you have chosen. These can be found in Chapter 5 of the textbook (Melnyk and Fineout-Overholt, 2015).

This critical appraisal should be written in complete sentences (not just a numbered list) using APA format. Provide a reference for the article according to APA format and a copy of the article.

Analysis of Research

TOPIC:  Analysis of Research I

In this course, we will move toward the concept of the literature review, an important element of the dissertation process. As you have learned, synthesis is the process of creating a new idea by analyzing multiple disparate concepts or notions to discern the common thematic or connecting principles among them. Synthesis of research is a process learned through time and practice. In this assignment, you will continue to analyze research. Instead of approaching the research articles as individual entities, you should compare, analyze, evaluate, and synthesize the information you are reading.

General Requirements:

Use the following information to ensure successful completion of the assignment:

· Review the journal articles assigned in the first three topics of this course.

1. The article citations, which are not included in the total word count.

2. A written summary of the key concept(s) of the articles. Consider the following questions: Why were the studies done? What were the populations studied? What did the researcher(s) conclude? How are the research questions or findings similar/different? What other information about these studies do you believe is unique or important to recall? Are there specific statements made by the authors that you wish to retain? How might these articles compare with others you read? What new ideas can come out of the articles you are evaluating?

SIMULATOR FIDELITY

Simulators are designed to various levels of fidelity based on the training objective. Review the video about UAS simulation and consider the different model and simulation fidelity required for training.

For this discussion, provide your supported opinion on one of these questions by using specific examples (does not need to be from the video). Consider the various types of fidelity in your discussion.

  1. What is the determining factor as to how much fidelity is required in an aviation related simulator?  Consider the FAA’s definitions of flight training devices and flight simulators.
  2. What are some of the risks and benefits of lower fidelity training devices? What about very high fidelity?
